Is Fashion Art?

Many, many years ago I dreamed of being a fashion designer and learned how to sew from my Aunt. Over the years I occasionally made me a top or a dress, or sewed something for my daughter. Nothing was award winning and I guess as long as it functioned I had done my job.
At some point I started to really look at the artistry behind the designers. The more I investigated the detail and their craft the more I realized fashion is another form of art.
