More Than A Pretty Picture - Inspiration

We all have our "go to" shopping spot. Places we prefer to grocery shop, stores that offer styles that we are comfortable wearing or high-end designer escapes that for a moment allows us to dream in real time. When we walk into these stores, designers have arranged tableaus to entice us to purchase everything we see. I have a few go to stores when it comes to finding a unique gift. So a few weeks ago, exhausted after a long work week I dragged myself and my daughter to Fashion Island on a Friday evening to my "go to" gift mecca Anthropologie.

Honestly I just wanted to rush in and rush out. Find something appropriate and quickly. I am just not a shopper. I do not want to spend hours going through every display, I do not want to rummage through sales racks. I am a focused buyer - come with a plan and execute on that plan. Anthropologie had recently been expanded and this was the first time experiencing the new flow. My plan that Friday to rush in and rush out did not happen. From the moment I walked into the store each display was tastefully and most importantly artfully arranged to draw your eye in and give you a reward. My energy instantly picked up as I moved from display to display. It took enormous will power to walk away from the booties. I wanted to buy them all. But as I said I was on a mission and the mission was not me.

I started taking pictures (thank you iPhone 6) to capture the inspiration I found in the fabrics, on the walls, the always unique china, chandeliers, furniture, and even the floor. I found a perfect gift and left with a higher energy level than when I arrived.

Would I redo every room in my home to reflect my love of Anthropologie design? I do not have a big enough pocketbook to make that happen, but I would love to acquire a few new pieces. That being said I hope you find inspiration from my recent visit to my "go to" store.
