When Fall Comes to Southern California

Fall is my absolute favorite season of the year. Being an East Coaster I get homesick this time of the year. There is a special kind of crispness in the Fall air, roadside pumpkins, mums provide bursts of color, and of course those dramatic fall leaves. None of that applies in where I live in Southern California. We have weeks of 90+ degree weather, Santa Ana winds that could lead to fire, and our on-going drought.
So what does a girl do? She wears her boots when it drops to 70 degrees (just because) and she buys flowers from Trader Joe's. To honor our California Fall enjoy a few pumpkins, gourds, and cut flowers.
Enjoy!
