How I Slow Down

To celebrate my Day 1 of my Staycation I headed to Laguna Beach. One of the main reasons I moved Orange County when I returned to California so many years ago was to be close to Laguna. It is my centering space. A place where I can be still and take in the view.
Laguna is also very congested so during the summer months I typically stay away. On a Wednesday in October heading down PCH there is still traffic, but it's manageable. I drove past main beach and made my way to Treasure Island, the public park that is situated between the ocean and the five star resort The Montage.
I've had many memorable visits here. I've seen weddings, memorial services, tethered hawks, and even Magic Johnson with his wife during my many visits. Today there was a photo shot in progress, an early morning yoga session, young families playing in the park, elderly couples walking, and an amazing Bernese Mountain Dog named Zeus.
